About Comics Stand-Up Comedy Blog

If you haven't already guessed by the enormous overhead banner, my name is Alec Robbins.

I started performing stand-up comedy in my first year of college when I realized I wasn't good at anything else. I managed to juggle classes at Western Michigan University while getting stage time at landmark Michigan comedy clubs like Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle and Dr. Grins Comedy Club (where I've performed alongside comics like Pat Dixon, Mike Green, and Aziz Ansari.)

In addition to being such an absolutely amazing and dazzlingly attractive stand-up comedian, I draw a bi-weekly comic strip in the Western Herald, the official school newspaper of Western Michigan University. Those comics can all be read online at this very website by clicking here, which I highly recommend doing.

The Simple Complex is another project of mine: an online webcomic chronicling the adventures of Alan Simple, a young spaceboy who inherits his father's enormous fortune. It's updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Lastly, I maintain a lackadaisical blog where I sporadically write about whatever the hell pops into my mind. Maybe you'll enjoy reading some of it.
